Forty members of staff of 15 municipalities taking part in the implementation of the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme EU - PROGRES visited Ivanjica and Pirot in mid-May to familiarise themselves with the two municipalities’ experiences and the procedures they applied when drafting and executing their programme budgets. The study tours are the first step within the support EU PROGRES will provide to the local self-governments in South and South-West Serbia in integrating programme budgets and designing capital investment plans. The programme budgeting approach is important because it closely links the goals set out in the local self-government strategic documents and the available resources on a multi-year level.
